Abstract

This research discusses the concept of Living Qur'an in the context of contemporary Indonesian art, focusing on the analysis of the song ‘Gala Bunga Matahari’ by Sal Priadi. The concept of Living Qur'an refers to how the teachings of the Qur'an are translated into everyday life through various cultural and artistic expressions. The song ‘Gala Bunga Matahari’ was chosen as the object of study because although it is not classified as a religious song, this song implies a deep spiritual meaning, which is related to the depiction of life in heaven. Sal Priadi creatively represents his understanding and spiritual experience of the holy text of the Qur'an through the medium of music. The gentle arrangements and poetic language in the song lyrics provide a means for listeners to live the ‘living’ dimension of the Qur'anic teachings in a contemporary context.
