Evaluation in Islamic education has an important role in shaping a perfect person who has a balance between knowledge, spirituality and morality. This research aims to analyse the evaluation method of Islamic education, the challenges faced, and its relevance to the needs of modern times. The research method used is library research by collecting and analysing data from various literatures. The results show that evaluation methods in Islamic education include muraqabah (self-introspection), hiwar (question and answer), moral observation, and memorising exams. Islamic education faces internal challenges in the form of human resource competence and external challenges such as the demands of globalisation and technological advances. To address these challenges, this article recommends contemporary evaluation methods such as project-based assessment, computer-based evaluation, and self-assessment. The research emphasises the need to adapt traditional evaluation methods by integrating digital technology to ensure that Islamic education remains relevant, competitive and capable of shaping an excellent generation in the modern era.
